Bakwan Sayur: Crispy Vegetable Fritters

Bakwan sayur is a popular Indonesian snack. It is made with lots of vegetables and some batter, then fried until it is crispy. Some people call it bala-bala, ote-ote, or piya-piya. You can find it easily on the street or make it at home. It is a tasty way to eat vegetables!

Bakwan sayur is great because you can use many different vegetables. Usually, people use shredded cabbage, carrots, and bean sprouts. Sometimes they also add green beans or cauliflower. These vegetables are mixed with a batter made from flour, garlic, shallots, and spices. The batter helps the vegetables stick together and makes them crispy when you fry them.

"People these days hardly read any more," said Lyra sadly. "They just rely on computers and robots to think."

Together with Lyra, Galang invites children from the future to read old books that are still stored in the library. Gradually, the children began to become interested, and the library came alive with stories of adventure, fairy tales and science.
